Why another pay calculator
Most of them stop one step short. They tell you your company car's taxable value but not what it costs you. They quote maternity pay before tax, which is not the number that reaches your account. They ask whether you are a 20% or 40% taxpayer, which has no answer if you are halfway between.
Everything here runs off one tax engine, so every tool knows your actual marginal rate and can finish the sentence.
How the numbers are worked out
Every rate is fetched from gov.uk, written into a dated file with its source attached, and checked by a test suite pinned to figures HMRC publishes. Nothing is estimated, averaged or remembered. Each page states the tax year and the date its rates were last verified.
The calculations run in your browser. What you earn is never sent to us, and we could not read it if we wanted to.
What this is not
It is not tax advice, and it cannot see your payslip. Your tax code, your employer's payroll and anything unusual about your year will move the real figure. Where a tool makes an assumption, the page says so.
